Petroleum Jelly
Petroleum jelly is a mixture of hydrocarbons which is semisolid at room teprature, and it is also odorless, when properly refined. It is used in a variety of industries, also known as petrolatum or soft paraffin.
Petroleum Jellies can be used as excipients and as active pharmaceutical ingredients. Their protective, healing, moisturising and soothing properties are highly valued by the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.
It is a blend of Paraffin Oil , Paraffin Wax and Micro-crystalline Waxes, after heating the Oil till upto 80 deg C, you add the waxes and mix them for 3–4 hours then fill the jelly in molten condition in jars/drums and let it cool over 24/48 hours and you have petroleum jelly ready for use.
Just avoid using any material with foul smell.
UAE Petroleum Jelly is also produced from fractional distillation of petroleum crude oil. It is a translucent soft mass consisting of a mixture of hydrocarbons. Its colour ranges from white to yellowish brown, is odourless and almost tasteless, and insoluble in water.

• A variation of Petroleum Jelly known as Red Veterinary Petroleum confers some protection against UV (ultraviolet) exposure and has been used as a sunscreen
