Uses of Base Oil SN 350

SN 350 base oil is a Group I mineral oil stock commonly employed in various industrial applications due to its cost-effectiveness and balanced performance characteristics. Here’s a more detailed examination of its key uses:

  • Lubricant Formulations

    • Industrial Lubrication: Hydraulic fluids, gear oils, and compressor oils blended with SN 350 provide essential lubrication for industrial machinery operating under demanding conditions. This translates to improved efficiency, minimized downtime for repairs, and extended equipment lifespan.
    • Automotive Applications: While less prevalent than SN650, SN 350 can be a suitable base stock for certain automotive applications, particularly in non-critical situations. It may be found in some transmission fluids and specific gear oil formulations.
    • Metalworking Fluids: SN 350 can be effectively utilized as a base oil in metalworking fluids such as cutting oils and coolants. It plays a crucial role in metalworking processes by:
      • Heat Dissipation: During machining operations, significant heat is generated. SN 350 effectively absorbs and carries away this heat, preventing thermal damage to both the workpiece and cutting tool.

Base oil packed in new or used 180 kg drums, iso tank, Flexitanks, and bulk shipments. Each 20-foot container takes 80 drums.

Handling health & Safety :

Lubricants consist of highly refined mineral oils with specification additives. In normal conditions of use, this lubricant presents no particular toxic hazard. All lubricants, of any kind, should be handled with great care, particularly avoiding contact with the skin.

Prevent any splashing, and keep away from combustible materials. Store undercover and away from any risk of pollution. Dispose of the used oil correctly; don’t pour down drains, into watercourses or the soil.
