Bitumen Penetration Grade 120/150 is a standard Penetration Grade of Bitumen ASTM D946M, typically used as a Paving Grade Bitumen suitable for road construction and for the production of asphalt pavements with superior properties particularly in road and airport constructions and other similar applications. This grade of Bitumen is mainly used in the manufacture of hot mix asphalt for bases and wearing courses. Penetration Grades of Bitumen is produced from Vacuum Residue, which is blown by hot air in the RAHA Blowing Unit; The fully automated process runs continuously resulting in a constant and homogeneous finished product quality. RAHA Oil’s Penetration Grade Bitumen can be supplied in any grade and are designated by two numbers to indicate the mid-points of their penetration ranges.

Bitumen Penetration Grade 120/150 is kind of Bitumen which is produced during the process of oxidation of vacuum bottom (the bitumen production feedstock that derives from distillation tower residue in vacuum oil refineries) at bitumen production unit in a manner that its penetration point (kind of test to indicate the hardness of bitumen) become between 120-150. Bitumen 120/150 has high flash point and high adhesion properties to aggregates, compatible with all types of aggregates.

Properties of Bitumen 120/150

Penetration grade bitumen supplied by RAHA Oil is pure petroleum grade bitumen, manufactured from vacuum bottom by passing hot air. The bitumen supplied by RAHA Oil is produced from remain of crude oil after cracking and removing hydrocarbon. Penetration grade bitumen 120/150 has penetration between 120~150 desi-millimeter and the softening point between 38~45C. The penetration grade bitumen 120/150 has a thermoplastic property which is like as synthetic resin material which gets softer with heating and hardens when cooled. This grade of bitumen 120/150 has very strong viscosity compare to other grades.
