Description of Bitumen 40/50
RAHA Bitumen 40/50 is a standard Penetration Grade of Bitumen ASTM D946M, typically used as a Paving Grade Bitumen suitable for road construction and for the production of asphalt pavements with superior properties particularly in road and airport constructions and other similar applications. This grade of Bitumen is mainly used in the manufacture of hot mix asphalt for bases and wearing courses.
Penetration Grades of Bitumen is produced from Vacuum Residue, which is blown by hot in the RAHA Blowing Unit; The fully automated process runs continuously resulting in a constant and homogeneous finished product quality.
RAHA Oil’s Penetration Grade Bitumen can be supplied in any grade and are designated by two numbers to indicate the mid-points of their penetration ranges. The penetration grade bitumen has a thermoplastic property which causes the material to soften at high temperatures and to harden at lower temperatures. This unique temperature-viscosity relationship is important when determining the performance parameters such as the adhesion, rheology, durability and application temperatures of bitumen.
Properties of Bitumen 40/50
Penetration grade bitumen 40/50 supplied by RAHA Oil is pure petroleum grade bitumen, manufactured from vacuum bottom by passing hot air. The bitumen supplied by RAHA Oil is produced from remain of crude oil after cracking and removing hydrocarbon. Penetration grade bitumen 40/50 has penetration between 40~50 desi-millimeter and the softening point between 52 ~ 60C. The penetration grade bitumen 40/50 has a thermoplastic property which is like as synthetic resin material which gets softer with heating and hardens when cooled. This grade of bitumen 40/50 has very strong viscosity compare to other grades.
Uses of Bitumen 40/50
Bitumen 40/50 is suitable for road construction and for the asphalt pavements with superior properties. This type of bitumen used in the manufacture of hot mix asphalt for bases and wearing courses and the main usage of this product is used in the road in tropical regions. the bitumen is provided during the presses of oxidation of vacuum bottom in bitumen production units. Due to its high air blowing and penetration, it is used in tropical areas with the Warm weather. It is not softened at high temperatures and does not fail its qualities.

Packing of Bitumen 40/50
Paving Bitumen 40/50 is commonly packed in new steel drums, 150, 180 & 220 Kg barrels and 1MT and 500Kg Jumbo Bags or 300kg Bitubag.
Likewise, the rest of the grades are ready to load Ex-work bulk RAHA Bitumen by truck.
