Bitumen Penetration Grade 70/100 is a standard penetration grade Bitumen usually used as a Paving Grade Bitumen suitable for road construction and for the production of asphalt pavements with superior properties. This grade of Bitumen is mainly used in the manufacture of hot mix asphalt for bases and wearing courses. Penetration Grade Bitumen supplied by RAHA GROUP is petroleum grade bitumen, manufactured from fractional / vacuum distillation of crude oil. The Bitumen supplied by RAHA GROUP is produced from vacuum residue (short residue) feedstock. Penetration Grade bitumens are specified by the penetration and softening point test. The designation is by penetration range only. The penetration grade bitumens have a thermoplastic property which causes the material to soften at high temperatures and to harden at lower temperatures. This unique temperature/ viscosity relationship is important when determining the performance parameters such as the adhesion, rheology, durability and application temperatures of bitumen.

Properties of Bitumen 70/100

Penetration grade bitumen 70/100 supplied by RAHA GROUP is pure petroleum grade bitumen, manufactured from vacuum bottom by passing hot air. The bitumen supplied by RAHA GROUP is produced from remain of crude oil after cracking and removing hydrocarbon. bitumen 70/100 has penetration between 70~100 desi-millimeter and the softening point between 42~ 52 C.
The penetration bitumen 70/100 has a thermoplastic property which is like synthetic resin material which gets softer with heating and hardens when cooled. Penetration grade bitumens are specified by the penetration and softening point test. The temperature-vs-stiffness relationship of bitumen is dependent on the source of crude oil and the method of refining.

Application of Penetration Grade Bitumen 70/100

The bitumen 70/100 is a semi-hard penetration grade, with penetration between 70 and 100. Which is mostly used in road construction, asphalt pavement, and manufacturer of hot-mix asphalt.

Also 70/100 Penetration Grade Bitumen is used in the construction of single seals, double seals, and Cape seals, either as a tack coat or penetration spray. It is also used as the base bitumen for the manufacture of the majority of emulsions and polymer modified binders.
